About Loom & Glow

I’m Mara, the writer behind Loom & Glow.
I trained as a visual merchandiser before turning to writing in 2025, when I started collecting the small decisions that make a home feel calm — the texture of a woven basket, the shape of an empty shelf, the right kind of light. I write about calm interiors, small spaces, and the quiet pieces that turn a room into rest.
I work from a small cottage in Bath, with my partner and our whippet Hugo always somewhere underfoot.
What Loom & Glow is about
Loom & Glow is a slow-decor publication for people who want their homes to feel quiet. Not minimalist in the cold sense — calm. Rooms with breathing space. Materials with honest texture. Pieces you don’t have to explain.
We cover three areas:
Decor Ideas — for rooms that need a quiet refresh. Shelf styling, natural textures, woven pieces, the corners most people forget about.
Shop the Look — the calm, natural pieces we’d genuinely live with: handmade ceramics, recycled glass, woven baskets, and warm wood, chosen for quiet rooms.
Small Spaces — for balconies, narrow rooms, and homes where every square metre matters.
How we write
No magazine prose. No poetic openings. We tell you why something works, then show you how to use it. Practical over precious. Calm over clutter.
Editorial values
- We write about pieces we’d genuinely have in our own homes
- We never feature products as “buy now” sales pitches — only as design suggestions
- When an article contains affiliate links, you’ll always see a clear disclosure
- We don’t write sponsored posts
- We use AI-assisted tools to help draft and research, and we edit and fact-check every piece against our editorial standards before it’s published
